THE STORY:As a guitarist, it felt natural to create a virtual instrument based on guitars. I didn’t want to make just another realistic sounding library. Instead I experimented with transforming this familiar instrument into something new and unique. The result is a cinematic instrument that combines processed pad textures with natural acoustic guitar samples. It includes both nylon and steel guitars, each with three modes: Envolving: notes from two different octaves, played at random timing and slowed down to extreme lengths. Natural: a realistic guitar with an extended range that begins to resemble other plucked string instruments. Particles: single notes processed through delay and granular effects. Lumo – Acoustic Guitars is the first release in the Lumo series, where I record and transform real instruments into new expressive sonic forms.
